Imitated never duplicated. We humans have heard this statement numerous times in our lives. But not once did I sit and repeat it to fully understand the underlying message. Whether you are in middle school, high school, college, the workplace or even a business owner....at one time or another YOU have believed it would be easier to be someone else. I remember the dumbest reasons why I wanted to be someone else. Why couldn't I be Viviana from 5th grade and be left handed? Why couldn't I be Jill in middle school and look super cool in big black glasses? Why couldn't I be Tiffany my BFF in high school and get all the boys? Why am I me??? You see in all of my life I have always thought life would be easier if I was someone else. If I had that family. If I had their money. If I lived there. If I had done this. If I had picked that career? Why do we do this to ourselves? God created us as his MASTERPIECE. Born where and when and to whom we were destined to be. BAM! All the ups and downs and turn arounds this life deals us are absolutely with reason and you are right where you need to be. You have touched someone's life! You are a legend in the making! Don't ask me why pain, hurt, anguish, and loss happen. Those are a chapter in your book and I am not the author. A book that is MEANT to be read, shared and retold by those whom cherish you. When you want someone else's fortune or life or the payoff-you aren't seeing the suffering and the sacrifice. Flip the script...now think about one thing... Someone out there has wanted to be YOU. Say that out loud. "Someone out there has wanted to be me." But why? They see a quality in you that is worth possessing! A life worth the adventure! NEWS FLASH... You are awesome! You are destined! You are a one of a kind masterpiece! Take a moment and really reflect upon who you wanted to be and why. Does it still make any sense why you wanted that? Odds are it was because of appearance or material things. Why lessen ourselves to that? As I was typing this tonight, I was sitting over coffee and tea with my 12 year old daughter. I grabbed my pen and paper and I said, "mommy needs to ask you a funny question." She said-"ok I'm ready!" I asked, "Ok. Have you ever wished you were someone else? Had their life, looks, things?" She replied, "yea mom, it's called Halloween." I was so impressed at the candidness and confidence of my child. Let's get back to that innocence. Back to when we appreciated the journey and didn't focus on the things that didn't really matter! Pray today that God reveals your true character to yourself. You without a doubt deserve to be recognized for the masterpiece you are. Post your "I am God's Masterpiece" to social media and tag me! Rest well you perfect creatures!

This is me....being very transparent with you. My hands are shaking and my heart is beating.... Past 8 years- I was down 101lbs- Up 50 lbs- Down 20 lbs... You see the payoff. You didn't see the suffering. You see a pretty and confident woman, who you assume has it all together with a perfect life. You didn't see the tears of an obese woman. The sweat and fear I conquered. The cries out to the Lord for help with my obsession with food. The hate I felt for myself when I couldn't be the woman I thought I deserved to be. You see the suffering?....that's something that will always be there. Being obese is a disease. A mental disorder. It's a fill to a void. You can't fix fat you can correct it but you MUST repair your mental before your physical. This void I felt? Loneliness, lost, confused, hidden, fat, less than.... It's filled! My God has never forsaken me, my husband has always loved me, my kids have never seen me as less than what I am....Me. I can attribute this to wanting better for my future, to be able to keep up with my kids, to wake up each day excited for a new adventure God has given me! Life change has taught me more than losing weight and living healthy. It's taught me about the importance of helping others. Helping them change, to focus, to dream, to explore, to give, and to live. I am so in love with this life! #NeverGiveUp #DreamsDoComeTrue |
